EGYPTIAN COMPUTER SOCIETY

The goals of the Egyptian Computer Society are to promote development and basic & applied research in the field of computing & computer applications in Egypt and the Arab World. Also to organize scientific meetings & conferences in computer related areas and to promote computer education & computer assisted learning. The Society has appr. 420 individual members, 40 organizations, 50 associates and students and 12 overseas members

Society's Major Activities

• Promotion of development and basic & applied research in the field of computing & computer applications.
• Organizing meetings, seminars, workshops & conferences in computer related areas.
• Computer education and training.
• Publication of a specialized journal "Egyptian Journal of Computer Science", and other scientific material on computing and computer use and development.
• Promotion of centers for scientific computing and information.
• Promotion of activities for the use of scientific computers in education.
• Cooperation with leading international computer societies world-wide.

• A specialized journal "Egyptian Journal of Computer Science".
• A non-periodic magazine for the Society and its activities.
• Proceedings of an annual conference on Computing and Applications.
• Proceedings of seminars, workshops and meetings in different areas of computing (AI, Expert Systems, Computer Arabization, Arabic Computational Linguistics, Computational Physics, Neural Networks, Computer in Education, etc.).
