1. Topics
(1) Dr. Takeo Miura, Japanese representative has re-elected to IFIP Vice Predident.(three year's term)(2) The idea of Entertainment Computing which was proposed from IPSJ at IFIP GA in Beijing has authorized as IFIP Task Force.
(3) IFIP Exective Board has held at Tokyo in February, and had a special session with IPSJ and JEITA.
(4)The panel discussion regarding Entertainment Task Force has held as its first IFIP event at INTERACT 2001 conference which was held at Waseda University in July.
(5) Dr. Shiro Sakada participates as International Programme Committee member of WCC 2002.
(6) IPSJ celebrated its forty year's aniversary celemony in October, 2000.

2.2 Publications
"Joho Shori" (monthly magazine in Japanese): 170 pages/copy and 25,000 copies/month on an average.
"Journal of IPSJ" (monthly): 260 pages/copy and 5.800 copies/month on an average.
"IPSJ Transactions" (irregular journal on specific field ):
Three Transactions on Programming in November 2000, March and February 2001.
Three Transactions on Database in October 2000 , January and March 2001.
One Transaction on Mathematical Modeling and Application in December 2000.
One Transaction on High Performance Computing System in November 2000.
One Transaction on Computer Vision and Image Media in December 2000.
2.3 Special Interest Groups
Two new SIGs" Quality Aware Internet" and"System Evaluation" and there are currently 32 Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to which 10,845 experts register in total. They held 133 study meetings in the last year.
