Welcome to the IFIP Secretariat, Laxenburghouse.gif (20641 bytes)

In January 1995, the IFIP Secretariat was transferred from Geneva to Laxenburg, an elegant village comprised mainly of a baroque palace and park which lies just to the south of Vienna. The formal inauguration of the Secretariat took place on 6 July 1995.

In Laxenburg, IFIP joined a small community of international organizations including IFAC (International Federation for Automatic Control) and IIASA (International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis).

In Austria, the Secretariat is supported by the Federal Ministry for Science, Research and the Arts, the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the University of Vienna- Institute of Applied Informatics, and the Austrian Computer Society (OCG).
